Republican candidates dominated the federal and state offices on the Nov. 3 ballot in Volusia County.

A record 77% of Volusia registered voters cast ballots, accorind to the Elections Supervisor Lisa Lewis. Beating the previous high of 75% in 2008.

While President Donald Trump carried Volusia County and all of Florida, several major news outlets declared Saturday that former Vice President Joe Biden has won and will become the 46th president of the United States and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris will become the first female vice president in U.S. history.

Politicial newcomer Jeff Brower won the Volusia County Chair seat while voters approved renewal of the Volusia ECHO and Forever programs.
